\n\tCharli XCX<\/a> reviewed Dave Grohl<\/a> and his daughter Harper\u2019s apple dance to her Brat song<\/a> \u201cApple\u201d after watching the video, which went viral in 2024, for the first time. The musicians appeared on The Graham Norton Show last night, where the Foo Fighters<\/a> performed the title track to their forthcoming album, Your Favorite Toy<\/a>, which arrives April 24.<\/p>\n

\n\tNorton played the Grohls\u2019 apple dance clip \u2014 where a standing Harper led her sitting dad Dave through choreographed moves to Charli\u2019s infectious song \u2014 \u00a0for Charli who had not seen it previously. Graham queried if Foo Fighters did a lot of choreography, to which Grohl responded<\/a>, \u201cWe don\u2019t.\u201d Despite dancing not being a Foos forte, he won Charli\u2019s approval. \u201cYou\u2019re taking like an abstract approach, and that\u2019s cool,\u201d she told him.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring the show, Foo Fighters took the stage to perform \u201cYour Favorite Toy,\u201d with Jason Falkner jumping on guitar in lieu of Pat Smear, who recently experienced a bizarre gardening accident<\/a>, which led to a broken foot. Smear was still present in spirit: a photo of his face was emblazoned on the kick drum. The performance included backing vocals from Scissor Sisters\u2019 Jake Shears and Babydaddy.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tEarlier this week, Foo Fighters announced their 12th album<\/a> Your Favorite Toy, their first recording since new drummer Ilan Rubin joined the lineup, and shared its title track. During Grohl\u2019s interview on Friday, Norton asked what made now the time for their next record.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019ve been a band for 30 years now, right? And so we\u2019ve, we\u2019ve all grown together, and we\u2019ve all been through life together, ups and downs, and honestly, it\u2019s more than a musical thing. At some point you get to a place where it\u2019s kind of more than music, you know, it\u2019s our families and it\u2019s our friends \u2026 a lot of the people we work with are from the Nirvana days,\u201d Grohl explained. \u201cAnd so it becomes something that\u2019s more than music, and you just kind of know when it\u2019s time. And so when we go and approach a new record, it\u2019s all determined by where we\u2019re at in our lives. And we\u2019re, you know, a bunch of grumpy old men.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe added, \u201cYou\u2019d imagine that \u2026 as you get a bit older, that things sort of soften \u2026 It doesn\u2019t,\u201d he said before letting out some screams. \u201cIt\u2019s kinda like that now. That\u2019s where we\u2019re at now.\u201d<\/p>\n
