The Warriors have no plans to shut down Stephen Curry<\/a> for the remainder of the season, head coach Steve Kerr said Friday on 95.7 The Game\u2019s Willard and Dibs show (YouTube link<\/a>). The superstar guard continues to deal<\/a> with patellofemoral pain syndrome (runner\u2019s knee) in his right knee and is out at least one more week.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not going to do anything silly, obviously,\u201d Kerr said (story via Tristi Rodriguez of NBC Sports Bay Area<\/a>). \u201cWe are protecting him. But as soon as he\u2019s healthy, he\u2019s going to play. That\u2019s what this is about. We have lots to play for. We\u2019re right in the mix in the playoffs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an injury that\u2019s been nagging. It\u2019s not like this is something that\u2019s going to hurt him next year if we put him out there now. It\u2019s just injury management. As soon as he\u2019s healthy and ready to go, he\u2019ll be out there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Curry told Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area<\/a> that while he\u2019s frustrated with his knee issue, he\u2019s focused on returning \u201cas fast as possible.\u201d \u201cThe goal is to be healthy come playoff time and be available when it matters most,\u201d Curry said (Twitter video link<\/a>). \u201cObviously, I\u2019d love to be playing right now. If you\u2019re healthy, you\u2019re able to play. I\u2019m headed in the right direction and hopefully it won\u2019t be too much longer.\u201d
\nDraymond Green<\/a> struggled mightily in Thursday\u2019s loss to Boston, missing all seven of his field goal attempts and finishing with zero points, three assists and two rebounds. The nine-time All-Defensive member was minus-28 in 18 minutes. Kerr said the onus is on him and his coaching staff to figure out ways to help Green with Curry out, according to Nick Friedell of The Athletic<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019ve got to do a better job of helping Draymond,\u201d Kerr said after Friday\u2019s practice. \u201cThe game is so different without Steph. Those two guys have built such a rapport for 14 years now. They\u2019ve been playing together, and for sure, in my 12 (years), the two-man game with those two guys has been our bread and butter. When Steph goes out, it really changes everything in terms of how defenses guard us, and it impacts Draymond probably more than anybody.\u201d
\nTrade deadline acquisition Kristaps Porzingis<\/a> was a little rusty in his Warriors debut on Thursday, writes Anthony Slater of ESPN<\/a>, but his overall performance was encouraging and he\u2019s eager to play more minutes after logging 17 in the defeat. \u201cEven tonight, I would\u2019ve liked to go longer,\u201d Porzingis said. \u201cEven if I\u2019m exhausted out there, I still want to push myself. But I know I have to take it step by step.
