A little over a quarter of the way into the 200km race, Brown\u2019s cool suit failed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey weren\u2019t at the operating temperature they should be, and they get hot, and then they actually pump hot water around, not cold water,\u201d Brown told Speedcafe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was pumping at sort of 42 degrees, so it\u2019s like being in a hot sauna with a hot shirt whilst you\u2019re in the gym, so I really struggled at the end there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was really hot from about Lap 15. A tough race. A shit race in general really.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brown was assisted post-race and taken to the onsite medical centre to be evaluated.<\/p>\n<p>Red Bull Ampol Racing teammate Broc Feeney also felt the effects of the hot and humid conditions, <a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/supercars-news-2026-sydney-500-broc-feeney-red-bull-ford-cool-suit-heat-comments\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">coupled with cool suit issues of his own.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey tried putting an IV in. The vein kept collapsing, so I didn\u2019t end up getting an IV, unfortunately,\u201d Brown explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey just kept checking me out and making sure it was all good.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was just that hot after the race, just felt like I was going to pass out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey just took me in and did the normal checks and all that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll recover, be ready for the next round.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brown said the team had been having issues with his cool suit over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The issue only reared its head in the hottest conditions of the weekend, where ambient temperatures reached the mid-30s and the humidity was maxed out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were having issues all weekend with them in a way, but we\u2019ve never had it before, so unsure what the exact reason was,\u201d said Brown.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe boys and girls at Triple EIght will work it out, they\u2019re very good.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s just a disappointing weekend on the whole.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought we had good pace, but just have nothing to show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Supercars resumes its season at the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix on March 5-8.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/t.cfjump.com\/92797\/b\/285241\" rel=\"nofollow sponsored noopener\" data-bid=\"1\" data-no-instant=\"1\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; vertical-align: middle;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/285241.gif\" alt=\"\"\/><br \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Will Brown in a bed at the onsite medical centre at Sydney Motorsport Park.
