{"id":496820,"date":"2026-02-22T13:21:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-22T13:21:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/496820\/"},"modified":"2026-02-22T13:21:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-22T13:21:07","slug":"miguel-oliveira-details-australian-worldsbk-superpole-race-problem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/496820\/","title":{"rendered":"Miguel Oliveira details Australian WorldSBK Superpole Race \u201cproblem\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">Miguel Oliveira says a gear shift issue was the cause of his slump to 18th in the Australian WorldSBK Superpole Race.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/wsbk\/racer\/911996\/miguel-oliveira\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Oliveira<\/a> was forced to start last in Race 1 and the Superpole Race because he didn\u2019t set a lap in Superpole due to a crash on his first flying lap and a subsequent electronic problem that meant he couldn\u2019t get back out on-track after his bike had been repaired after he\u2019d got it back to the pits.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In Race 1 he successfully recovered to eighth, and in the Superpole Race he was set to gain a top-nine finish that would\u2019ve put him on the front three rows for Race 2.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">However, on final lap he dropped to 18th. After Race 2, Oliveira said that a gear shift issue began developing on the penultimate lap of the 10-lapper.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe Superpole Race was going great,\u201d Oliveira told WorldSBK.com.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI made a lot of overtakes to get me a place inside the top-nine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cBut unfortunately the second-last lap I started getting a problem shifting gears and at the beginning of the last lap I could not shift gears anymore due to a small issue in the quick shifter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI got stuck in the gear and had to do the whole lap cruising around and trying not to disturb other riders.
