UFC fighters with visa problems just learned something in Houston over the weekend: ask and ye shall receive.<\/p>\n
Uros Medic won his co-main fight against Geoff Neal via violent first round knockout (watch it here)<\/a> and then followed that up not with a request \u2014 not for a $100,000 bonus (which he got anyway)<\/a> but for help with his immigration issues.<\/p>\n \u201cNow I got one little problem,\u201d Medic declared in the cage. \u201cImmigration\u2019s been holding me up and I can\u2019t travel just yet. So this is my plea for help. President, Mr. President, if you can see this, please, we gotta go to Belgrade, Serbia for the UFC this summer.\u201d<\/p>\n We have our doubts the UFC will make the trip to Serbia any time soon, but Medic now can because UFC CEO Dana White got U.S. president Donald Trump on the phone to take care of his issues.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m back in his office and Dana\u2019s got president Donald Trump on speaker phone,\u201d Medic said at the post-fight press conference. \u201cI\u2019m just standing there and I cannot believe what\u2019s happening. I\u2019m talking to the president, and he said, \u2018You\u2019re good to go wherever you please. You can travel. Just give Dana documentation, the information that you need.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m just blown away. I mean, I love Mr. President, and his wife is from Slovenia, First Lady Melania \u2026 It was just amazing for me to be able to tell him about the situation and how big of a fan I am of him. And obviously, his wife, who is from where I\u2019m from \u2013 or I\u2019m considering where I\u2019m from, even though it\u2019s a different country. It\u2019s like a five-hour drive. That\u2019s nothing for America. Like, you can\u2019t even get out of Texas in five hours.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSo yeah, I\u2019m still processing all of it.\u201d<\/p>\n That\u2019s great news for Medic, who has been unable to travel back to his home country for three years now.
