<\/p>\nThe parents of four-year-old Gus Lamont, who went missing in SA’s Mid North last September, have released an appeal to anyone with information about his disappearance.<\/p>\n
In a statement distributed by SA Police, the boy’s parents Josh and Jess said they were united in their grief and search for answers.<\/p>\n
“Our lives have been shattered, and every moment without him is unbearable,” they said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“We know someone out there may have information.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“If someone knows what happened, we are pleading with that person \u2014 or anyone who may have seen or heard anything \u2014 to please come forward.<\/p>\n
“Even the smallest detail could give us the answers we so desperately need.”<\/p>\n
The parents have also released a new photo and a video of their son in which he is wearing a large hat while riding a balance bike on a gravel track.<\/p>\n

In the statement, the parents thanked police, emergency services and others involved in the search for Gus since he was reported missing on September 27.<\/p>\n
“We also want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone involved in the search for Gus,” they said.<\/p>\n
“The tireless efforts of police, emergency services, ADF personnel, volunteers, and specialists have meant more to us than we can ever say.”<\/p>\n
The parents also thanked their friends, family and supporters.<\/p>\n
“Your kindness has helped carry us through the darkest days of our lives,” they said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police said Task Force Horizon \u2014 which was announced in October to probe Gus’s disappearance<\/a> \u2014 would continue to investigate.<\/p>\n Gus’s disappearance was declared a major crime on February 5.<\/a><\/p>\n At the time Major Crime officer-in-charge Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke revealed they had a suspect, who was someone living at Oak Park Station where Gus was also living.<\/p>\n “A person who resides at Oak Park Station has withdrawn their support for the police and is no longer cooperating with us,” he said at the time.<\/p>\n “The person who has withdrawn their cooperation is now considered a suspect in the disappearance of Gus.<\/p>\n “I do want to stress, however, that Gus’s parents are not suspects in his disappearance.”<\/p>\n Police searches for Gus have included numerous structures including underground shafts. (Supplied: SA Police)<\/p>\n Gus’s grandparents Josie and Shannon Murray subsequently released a joint statement saying they were “absolutely devastated”<\/a> after his disappearance was declared a major crime.<\/p>\n In the statement, they said the family had “cooperated fully with the investigation and want nothing more than to find Gus and reunite him with his mum and dad”.<\/p>\n Last week, police said they would return to Oak Park Station “frequently”<\/a> in their bid to find Gus.<\/p>\n![\"A](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/108c5d0c7529fd58cc845c46c7b01636.jpeg\")
