{"id":501086,"date":"2026-02-24T14:08:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T14:08:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/501086\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T14:08:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T14:08:08","slug":"jusuf-nurkic-to-have-nose-surgery-miss-rest-of-jazzs-season-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/501086\/","title":{"rendered":"Jusuf Nurkic to have nose surgery, miss rest of Jazz&#8217;s season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HOUSTON &#8212; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com.au\/nba\/team\/_\/name\/utah\/utah-jazz\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Utah Jazz<\/a> center <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/player\/_\/id\/3102530\/jusuf-nurkic\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jusuf Nurkic<\/a> will undergo nose surgery this week and sit out the rest of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Jazz coach Will Hardy said before Monday&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com.au\/nba\/game\/_\/gameId\/401810685\/jazz-rockets\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">125-105 loss<\/a> to the <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"78113ad4-1ac7-0c04-dada-388a6ff4e15e\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com.au\/nba\/team\/_\/name\/hou\/houston-rockets\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Houston Rockets<\/a> that Nurkic has needed the procedure for a while.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He has had a really bad deviated septum in his nose,&#8221; Hardy said. &#8220;He has gotten hit in the face four or five times this year. His recent sickness has pushed that forward. It&#8217;s something that he&#8217;s needed to get done for a while now, so he&#8217;s going to get it taken care of.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The 31-year-old Nurkic averaged 10.9 points and 10.4 rebounds in 41 games in his first season with the Jazz.
