In a recent article for RG<\/a>, James Murphy reported that the Bruins and Blues have had \u201ca lot\u201d trade discussions regarding Faulk this campaign.<\/p>\n \u201cThey have been talking for a while now,\u201d Murphy\u2019s source said about the Bruins and Blues, \u201cSweeney and Armstrong have been together a lot, and I\u2019m told they\u2019ve talked a lot on Faulk. He fits that void Sweeney\u2019s been trying to fill and you saw that with the way he went after Andersson before he was traded to Vegas.\u201d<\/p>\n Hearing that the Bruins have expressed interest in Faulk is not difficult to understand. He is easily one of the top right-shot defensemen on the trade market right now and would certainly give the right side of the Bruins\u2019 blueline a significant boost if acquired.<\/p>\n Faulk would give the Bruins another legitimate top-four right-shot defenseman, which is their biggest need right now. When looking at a specific spot in the Bruins\u2019 lineup where Faulk could fit, their second pairing with Hampus Lindholm stands out. Furthermore, he would give Boston another puck-moving offensive defenseman to work with for their power play.<\/p>\n Faulk Would Help Bruins Beyond This Season<\/p>\n With the Bruins being a team focused on both the present and future, Faulk stands out as an excellent fit for them. This is because Faulk would be more than a rental for the Bruins if acquired, as he has a $6.5 million cap hit until the end of the 2026-27 season. This adds to his appeal, as he would help the Bruins beyond this season.<\/p>\n Ultimately, with the Bruins in need of another star defenseman, Faulk is exactly the kind of blueliner that they should make a big push for.
