\n The Cats have selected their team for Wednesday’s AAMI Community Series match against Carlton at IKON Park\n <\/p>\n
Geelong has selected\u00a0its team for Wednesday night’s AAMI Community Series match against Carlton, welcoming back some big names for the final hit-out of the pre-season.<\/p>\n
Among the inclusions are some of the Cats AFL Origin\u00a0players with\u00a0Patrick Dangerfield,\u00a0Max Holmes, Tom\u00a0Stewart\u00a0and Lawson Humphries set to feature in the Hoops for the first time this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Jay Polkinghorne, Mitch Edwards and George Stevens will also play on Wednesday night after impressing in last week\u2019s match simulation hit-out, while Mark Blicavs, Tanner Bruhn, Shaun Mannagh, Jack Martin and Zach Guthrie will return after missing Geelong’s match simulation against Hawthorn.<\/p>\n
The match will be Geelong’s final tune-up of the pre-season before all eyes turn to the start of the 2026 AFL season, with the Cats set to take on the Gold Coast Suns in the Opening Round next Friday. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Tickets are available for Geelong fans heading up the highway to IKON Park on Wednesday, follow the\u00a0link here<\/a>\u00a0to secure your seat.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n You can also follow all the action live through the Geelong Cats official live blog, which will be available on the Club’s website prior to the opening bounce.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n The match will be broadcast live on Kayo.\u00a0Cats\u00a0fans can sign up to a\u00a0Digital Plus Membershi<\/a>p<\/a> to watch the AAMI Community Series, along with every game of every round of the AFL season live and ad-break free.\u00a0<\/p>\n HEALTH UPDATE\u00a0<\/p>\n Rhys Stanley, Jack Bowes and Oli Wiltshire will not play as they manage their pre-season loads.<\/p>\n In positive news for Cats fans, Jake Kolodjashnij is on track to play Carlton in the VFL this week as he gradually increases his football match play over the coming weeks.<\/p>\n Bailey Smith (calf)<\/p>\n Bailey reported low grade calf symptoms during training last Friday, his loading will be modified during training this week and we expect him to be available for Opening Round.<\/p>\n \u00a0Gryan Miers (thumb)<\/p>\n Gryan sustained a thumb injury during last week\u2019s intraclub match and has since undergone surgery. He will miss Wednesday’s match against Carlton and will be a test for the Club\u2019s Opening Round match against Gold Coast.<\/p>\n \u00a0Jeremy Cameron (quad)\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Jeremy is training well following a low-grade quad strain sustained in pre-season training.
