I\u2019d walk into the gym every other week complaining at Martin [Bowers, my trainer] about something, and he\u2019d calm me down and say, \u2018Look, man, at the position we\u2019re in.\u2019 It\u2019s a glass half-full, as opposed to half-empty, mentality. \u2018Oh my days, I need you to just get angry with me.\u2019 But it\u2019s cool, man \u2013 he\u2019s kept my head cool, kept me in the gym working on stuff. I haven\u2019t wasted a year. It felt like I was wasting it but I haven\u2019t \u2013 I\u2019ve improved so much being in the gym for a year straight working consistently on things and things are coming off \u2018cause I\u2019ve had more time to work on them. I feel good in that sense \u2013 I feel the improvements in myself when I\u2019m sparring, so I don\u2019t feel like I\u2019ve wasted a year.
