On Tuesday night, the Dallas Mavericks<\/a> played the Brooklyn Nets<\/a> at Barclays Center in New York.<\/p>\n

The Mavs won by a score of 123-114.<\/p>\n

Klay Thompson<\/a> finished the victory with 17 points, two rebounds and two assists while shooting 6\/12 from the field and 5\/10 from three-point range in 23 minutes of playing time.<\/p>\n

Thompson is in his second season playing for the Mavs after signing with the franchise in the summer of 2024.<\/p>\n

He came into the night with averages of 11.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest while shooting 38.4% from the field and 37.5% from three-point range in 51 games.<\/p>\n

Before the Mavs, Thompson had spent the first 13 years of his legendary career with the Golden State Warriors<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With their victory over Brooklyn, the Mavs are now 21-36 in 57 games, which has them as the 12th seed in the Western Conference.<\/p>\n

They are in the middle of a two-game winning streak (and 7-19 on the road).<\/p>\n

Following the Nets, the Mavs will resume action on Thursday night when they host the Sacramento Kings<\/a> in Dallas.<\/p>\n

On the other side, the Nets dropped to 15-42 in 57 games, which has them as the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference.<\/p>\n

They are in the middle of a five-game losing streak (and 2-8 over their last ten).<\/p>\n

Following the Mavs, the Nets will play their next game on Thursday night when they host the San Antonio Spurs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Mavs are coming off a year where they lost to the Memphis Grizzlies<\/a> in the play-in tournament.<\/p>\n

They reached the NBA Finals in 2024.<\/p>\n
