Former AFL<\/a> star Nick Stevens has teed off outside court after a judge dismissed the jury of his fraud trial on Wednesday because the prosecution had technical issues.<\/p>\n

The 46-year-old is accused of ripping off six families<\/a> who paid him to install swimming pools in the regional Victorian town of Mildura.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege Stevens, who played for Carlton and Port Adelaide, deceived six families into paying a total of $171,000 for swimming pools to be installed.<\/p>\n

However, Stevens did not install their pools legally, either leaving them with cracked pools or failing to install a pool at all and instead leaving them with \u201cgiant holes in their backyards\u201d, prosecutors allege.<\/p>\n

He is now charged with 18 offences including theft, obtaining financial advantage by deception and using a false document.<\/p>\n

But the trial is dragging on and Stevens is frustrated.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s extremely disappointing to have seven years and the prosecution still not able to provide the evidence that\u2019s needed,\u201d Stevens told reporters outside court on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The first trial was aborted last year after a judge mix-up.<\/p>\n

Stevens has pleaded not guilty to the 18 charges linked to his swimming pool business.<\/p>\n

The case will resume on Monday.<\/p>\n
