The 32-year-old suffered the injury during the team\u2019s preliminary-round finale against Switzerland the weekend before, but it was severe enough to keep him out through the <a class=\"text-secondary underline underline-offset-2\" hreflang=\"en\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyfaceoff.com\/news\/czechia-radek-faksa-out-against-canada-injury-mens-hockey-olympics\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Czechs\u2019 quarterfinal matchup<\/a> with Canada, which ultimately saw the <a class=\"text-secondary underline underline-offset-2\" hreflang=\"en\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyfaceoff.com\/news\/2026-mens-olympic-hockey-top-standouts-as-canada-eliminates-czechia-2026\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">eventual silver medalists win in overtime<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg\">Faksa posted two assists in his three games in Milan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg\">With Faska going on IR last week, he could be eligible to return whenever he\u2019s ready and a roster spot is available.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg\">The Vitkov native has appeared in 56 of the team\u2019s 57 Stars\u2019 games so far this season. He has potted two goals and 15 assists for 17 points, though he hasn\u2019t registered a point in eight NHL games, having not scored a goal since Jan. 7 against the <a class=\"text-secondary underline underline-offset-2\" hreflang=\"en\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyfaceoff.com\/teams\/washington-capitals\/line-combinations\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Washington Capitals<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg\">Faksa returned to Dallas after spending one season with the <a class=\"text-secondary underline underline-offset-2\" hreflang=\"en\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyfaceoff.com\/teams\/st-louis-blues\/line-combinations\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">St. Louis Blues<\/a>. 10 of his 11 NHL seasons have been with the Stars. He\u2019s in the first season of his three-year contract, with the deal carrying an AAV of $2 million through the 2027-28 campaign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg\">Faksa\u2019s absence will create a spot for defenseman Lian Bichsel, who has been out <a class=\"text-secondary underline underline-offset-2\" hreflang=\"en\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyfaceoff.com\/news\/dallas-stars-lian-bichsel-out-significant-time-nhl-injury-news-update\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">since late November due to injury<\/a>. In 26 games, the 21-year-old has scored a goal and two assists for three points.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg\">The Stars (34-14-9) are third in the Central Division, six points back of the first-place <a class=\"text-secondary underline underline-offset-2\" hreflang=\"en\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyfaceoff.com\/teams\/colorado-avalanche\/line-combinations\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Colorado Avalanche<\/a>.
