SPC Global is moving juice production out of Melbourne, adding capacity at its factory in Shepparton and a new production partnership in Griffith in New South Wales.<\/p>\n

In a statement to the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) on Thursday, SPC Global (SPC) said it had refined a manufacturing strategy released in early 2025 with a new plan to save $8 million a year.<\/p>\n

It is moving ahead with the plan to close its Mill Park factory in Melbourne by the end of August.<\/p>\n

SPC initially planned to move all its juice production to its Shepparton site, at a cost of $23.5 million, but that has been revised down to $3 million, with just one juice product to be made there.<\/p>\n

It has entered into a new partnership with Fair Dinkum Foods to produce its Original Juice Company products in Griffith.<\/p>\n

The two new production lines at the Shepparton factory will be used to make the company’s Juice Labs Wellness Shots.<\/p>\n

It will bring 20 new jobs to the site.<\/p>\n

Under the earlier plan, 50 new jobs were slated for the factory.<\/p>\n

Despite the reduction, SPG managing director Robert Iervasi said it was “exciting” to invest in the iconic Shepparton facility.<\/p>\n

“It still remains as the fundamental DNA of our business,” he said.<\/p>\n

“We’re continuing to grow our SPC food portfolio not only here in Australia, but also in the international markets.<\/p>\n

“In bringing in two new production lines to manufacture Juice Lab shots, we’ll be increasing capability and production capacity at Shepparton, as well as increasing jobs.”<\/p>\n

Mr Iervasi said the juice shots would be in production in winter, away from the busy summer fruits period.<\/p>\n

“Citrus production typically happens in the colder months of the year, whereas our Shepparton site is right now in its busiest production period,” he said.<\/p>\n

“So the factory operates for an extended period of time in the financial year which means we’re able to sustain more people in employment for longer.”<\/p>\n

Fair Dinkum deal in Griffith<\/p>\n

The deal with Fair Dinkum Foods places SPC’s Original Juice Company production in the heart of citrus country in Griffith, in the northern Riverina.<\/p>\n

“Having a factory or production site that’s closely aligned to where we source our raw materials or ingredients is also a huge cost advantage for us,” Mr Iervasi said.<\/p>\n

The partnership will also extend the shelf life of its fresh juice up to 12 months.<\/p>\n

Fair Dinkum Foods and the Real Juice Company owner Tony Taliano said he was “proud” to share a “long-term commitment to Australian manufacturing” with SPC.<\/p>\n
