Dame Jacinda Ardern is moving to Australia.<\/p>\n
The news comes after an Australian real estate website reported the former New Zealand prime minister had been house hunting for properties in Sydney’s northern beaches.<\/p>\n
According to realestate.com.au, Dame Jacinda and her husband Clarke Gayford were seen looking at homes for sale in Curl Curl and Freshwater.<\/p>\n
The website puts the median price for homes in Curl Curl at $4.1 million, with growth of 6 per cent in the past 12 months.<\/p>\n
In Freshwater, realestate.com.au said the median price was $3.9m.<\/p>\n
In a statement, a spokesman for Dame Jacinda said her family had been travelling “for a few years now”.<\/p>\n
“For the moment, they’re basing themselves out of Australia \u2014 they have work there, and it brings the added bonus of more time back home in New Zealand,” the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
Dame Jacinda, Mr Gayford and their seven-year-old daughter, Neve Gayford, had been living in the United States where Dame Jacinda was working for Harvard University.<\/p>\n
She is also a trustee of Prince William’s Earthshot Prize.<\/p>\n
In March 2025, Dame Jacinda joined Oxford University’s Blavatnik School of Government as a Distinguished Fellow and member of the world leaders circle.<\/p>\n
She also released a memoir, A Different Kind of Power, last year and a children’s book, Mum’s Busy Work.<\/p>\n
