No worries. To cope, Thitikul said Tuesday she\u2019s swearing by a four-word mantra. It\u2019s a pressure deflator, much like using a touch of sarcasm, and the saying is this:\u00a0<\/p>\n

That\u2019s deeper. That\u2019s thoughtful. That\u2019s played out over her pressure points.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tuesday, Thitiful said she was still a little short on sleep. Adrenaline will do that, and Sunday at the Honda LPGA Thailand, it was flowing. Still, she said she decided that no matter what happened, her home country fans were going to get a show.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
And they did. And Thitikul won by a stroke<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThe nerves is always going to be there, but you have to beat the nerves,\u201d she said. \u201cSometime you get more worried about the future, about what next shot I\u2019m going to do.<\/p>\n \u201cBut I told myself, this is the time that you need joy with it, need joy with excitement, need joy with the nervous moments.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s why I kind of try to dance in the rain.\u201d<\/p>\n Then it\u2019s off to the next week, and the chance to do it all over again.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like you want just only that day, and then yesterday was like another new day that the trophy wasn\u2019t there anymore,\u201d Thitikul said. \u201cIt\u2019s a new week, it\u2019s a new journey, it\u2019s new themes.\u201d<\/p>\n How Jeeno Thitikul will approach pressure during her pursuit of a major win\u00a0<\/p>\n Jeeno Thitikul claims 8th LPGA win \u2014 and first in home country of Thailand<\/a><\/p>\n By:<\/p>\n The theme of Thitikul not yet winning a major has followed her \u2014 her best showing was a runner-up finish at last year\u2019s Evian Championship<\/a>. Still, her thought is: There are five chances this year. And five next year. And so on.\u00a0<\/p>\n More dances.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cObviously when the pressure moment, when the nervous moment coming, you\u2019re not going to get it every time,\u201d Thitikul said. \u201c\u2026 You have 10 times, you\u2019re not going to get it 10 times. You\u2019re obviously going to fall for sure.<\/p>\n \u201cBut I think the times that you fall, then you learn what the next time you\u2019re going to do. But if you fall, that\u2019s fine. Because you have the 11th time coming again.\u201d<\/p>\n Thitikul also said she learned last week that she doesn\u2019t need a \u201cperfect 100 percent\u201d game to win. In Thailand, she thought her iron play was well below that.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cSo I think for the goals for the majors, for whatever, I think that\u2019s kind of always going to be with me,\u201d she said. \u201cThat obviously if I\u2019m not a 100 percent of my game, but I have to show out there and be able to bounce back.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n How Jeeno Thitikul will approach the pressure of being the world No. 1\u00a0<\/p>\n
