the government-owned corporation said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">This result is $198.7 million lower than the prior corresponding period.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">The result, Australia Post said, &#8220;highlights increased costs for energy, enterprise agreement wage increases and property&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">&#8220;The letters service continues to run at a loss and volumes remain in decline.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Increased demand for eCommerce during &#8220;peak&#8221; earnings results were &#8220;not great, and clearly it&#8217;s Woolworths&#8217; turn to be in the buyers&#8217; sights&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">Harvey Norman &#8220;has been on the nose for a while&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">More broadly, he said, &#8220;higher interest rates [are] not helpful for retail.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph___QITb\">You can &#8220;never disappoint&#8221;
