Valerie Cherish (Lisa Kudrow) is staging her comeback again. Again. <\/p>\n

Season 3 of HBO\u2019s beloved mockumentary sitcom \u201cThe Comeback<\/a>\u201d premieres March 22 on HBO after first debuting at the SXSW Film & TV Festival<\/a>. The trailer, which debuted online Thursday, also announces this season as the last. (I\u2019ll believe it when I see it, series co-creator \u2014 and \u201cAnd Just Like That\u201d executive producer<\/a> \u2014 Michael Patrick King, aka king of repeat revivals.)<\/p>\n

Season 3 finds Kudrow\u2019s character starring in a new sitcom, and again making a documentary about her life on and off the set, with a writers\u2019 room featuring John Early, Abbi Jacobson, and, yep, AI \u2026 since this is \u201cThe Comeback<\/a>\u201d in 2026 after all. As part of her promotion for a new series called \u201cHow\u2019s That?,\u201d she also makes an appearance on \u201cHot Ones\u201d (a must-stop for any self-deprecating and humility-chasing celebrity these days) as the trailer indicates. Plot details are otherwise scarce for the new season\u2026 and we can\u2019t wait to see that.<\/p>\n

The mockumentary-style series follows Kudrow as a faded-out former sitcom star desperately trying to mount a career revival. In the first season, that included hiring a camera crew to follow her around as she prepared to star as Aunt Sassy in a middling comedy series about horny roommates. In Season 2, Valerie Cherish was cast by her former nemesis,\u00a0TV<\/a>\u00a0writer Paulie G. (Lance Barber), in a sexist HBO \u201cdark comedy\u201d series called \u201cSeeing Red,\u201d co-starring Seth Rogen and with shocking parallels to the red-headed star\u2019s own life.<\/p>\n

Andrew Scott is also in the cast for Season 3, along with Dan Bucatinsky, Laura Silverman, and Damian Young from the original series, plus Tim Bagley, Matt Cook, Jack O\u2019Brien, Ella Stiller, John Early, Barry Shabaka Henley, Abbi Jacobson, Tony Macht, Brittany O\u2019Grady, Zane Phillips, and Julian Stern.<\/p>\n

Season 2 of the series concluded in 2014, with the original season airing in 2005. <\/p>\n
