The lead singer of Powderfinger has been told to stick to singing his songs after he went on an anti-Trump tirade mid-show.<\/p>\n
Bernard Fanning was performing at his opening show of his Tea & Sympathy 20th anniversary tour on Wednesday night when he was interrupted by a member in the audience.<\/p>\n
During his gig at Sydney\u2019s State Theatre, Fanning was preparing to perform a cover of the Simon and Garfunkel track, Kathy\u2019s Song.<\/p>\n
However, before he was ready to roll, he had his own political remark he had to get off his chest.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was thinking about this today \u2026 I accidentally was watching the news and the f***wit pumpkin came on and started yelling at everybody and it made me think about how we\u2019re so bombarded by information,\u201d the 56-year-old remarked.<\/p>\n
A fan in the crowd sounded annoyed by Fanning\u2019s comment and chimed in.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re here for the music, mate!\u201d<\/p>\n
Fanning hit back: \u201cI can\u2019t hear you mate \u2026 what are you saying?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd if you don\u2019t want me to talk, that\u2019s ok. You can get f***ed.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, anyway as I was saying, we\u2019re so bombarded by information you know, and it\u2019s so hard to sort through all of it, and decide what you really think, and the thing that I came to was that, for me, it always comes back to music and art, (it) always brings me comfort.\u201d<\/p>\n
The crowd was heard erupting in cheers throughout Fanning\u2019s exchange with the fan.<\/p>\n
