T\ufeffhe Wire<\/a> actor Bobby J. Brown has died aged 62.<\/p>\n

Brown’s daughter confirmed to US media, including Page Six<\/a>, that her father had died from smoke inhalation \ufeffafter being caught in a barn fire.<\/p>\n

The Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed that the actor died on Tuesday\ufeff, ruling the cause of death was diffuse thermal injury and smoke inhalation.<\/p>\n

It was an accidental fire, local media reported. \ufeff<\/p>\n

It started when Brown jump-started a car in the barn, according to reports.<\/p>\n

He called his family to bring a fire extinguisher, but by the time they arrived, the barn was engulfed in flames.<\/p>\n

It’s understood Brown was inside and was killed by smoke inhalation, rather than burns.<\/p>\n

His wife suffered burns trying to save him from the flames, the outlet said.<\/p>\n

Brown played \ufeffOfficer Bobby Brown in the HBO series The Wire.<\/p>\n

\ufeffHe also starred in Law & Order: SVU and We Own This City.<\/p>\n

The star’s agent released a statement saying she is \ufeff”upset and saddened” by his passing.<\/p>\n

Brown is survived by his son and daughter.<\/p>\n
