\n\tBrit broadcaster Sky has got in the ring once more with Starz<\/a>, this time for the boxing drama \u201cFightland,\u201d executive produced by Curtis \u201950 Cent\u2019 Jackson. <\/p>\n

\n\tSky has joined Starz as co-commission partner on the series, set in the cutthroat, high-stakes world of British boxing, having already teamed with the U.S. network on projects including the period drama \u201cAmadeus\u201d and darkly comic thriller \u201cSweetpea.\u201d The co-commission deal also includes Sky future first look partnerships on select upcoming series from Starz. <\/p>\n

\n\tDescribed as a gripping story of redemption, betrayal, and brutal ambition in and out of the ring, \u201cFightland\u201d follows Maduka \u201cDuke\u201d Kilroy (Howard Charles), a disgraced, formerly incarcerated boxing champion who returns to London to seek vengeance against the crime family he thinks betrayed him. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe 8-episode series \u2014\u00a0season one of which recently wrapped in London \u2014\u00a0is slated to air later this year in the U.S. on the Starz app and platform, and will broadcast on Sky and the streaming service NOW in the U.K. and Ireland. Executive-produced by Jackson through his G-Unit Film & Television, it marks Starz\u2019s first wholly owned series.<\/p>\n

\n\tJackson is executive producer, along with Francis Hopkinson (\u201cWallander,\u201d \u201cBancroft\u201d) and Kate Leadbetter (\u201cWoman in White,\u201d \u201cCatherine the Great\u201d) of Expanded Media who also produce. Damione Macedon (\u201cPower,\u201d \u201cBMF,\u201d \u201cGenius: MLK\/X\u201d) and Raphael Jackson Jr. (\u201cPower,\u201d \u201cBMF,\u201d \u201cGenius: MLK\/X\u201d) are showrunners, executive producers and writers.
