{"id":507794,"date":"2026-02-27T15:30:09","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T15:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/507794\/"},"modified":"2026-02-27T15:30:09","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T15:30:09","slug":"4-under-the-radar-wide-receivers-to-spotlight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/507794\/","title":{"rendered":"4 Under-the-Radar Wide Receivers to Spotlight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"inline-text-0\" class=\"mt-[18px] md:mt-0 mb-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6d\">We have all heard a lot about the top wide receivers available in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nfl\/bills\/onsi\/bills-3-round-mock-draft-buffalo-adds-national-champion-wr-and-safety\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">the 2026 NFL Draft<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-1\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6g\">Names such as Ohio State\u2019s Carnell Tate, Arizona State\u2019s Jordyn Tyson and USC\u2019s Makai Lemon have led the list, while others such as KC Concepcion and Malachi Fields have also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nfl\/bills\/onsi\/draft-brandon-beane-corrects-past-miscues-in-mock-uses-bills-first-pick-to-help-qb-malachi-fields\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">sparked the interest<\/a> of many draft insiders as they project what will happen during this year\u2019s selection process.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-2\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6j\">But what about the under-the-radar names set to be selected on Day 2 or later? He finished the 2025 season with 1,054 yards receiving and six touchdowns, averaging a whopping 18.5 yards per reception for Mississippi State.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-6\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"73\">\u201cGPS tracking has recorded Thompson above 23 miles per hour in on-field play, and we\u2019ll see if that peak speed translates to the turf in Lucas Oil Stadium,\u201d wrote Jaime Eisner of\u00a0The Draft Network.\u00a0\u201cThompson is currently sitting firmly in the day-three conversation, but a strong 40 time paired with high-end testing in other drills could earn him top-100 buzz.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-7\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"76\">The Bills currently have two picks on the third day of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nfl\/bills\/onsi\/buffalo-bills-shockingly-in-great-spot-at-wr-position-per-nfl-draft-expert\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">the draft<\/a>\u2014a fourth and fifth-rounder.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/01kje1bpseh46041gyd3.jpg\" alt=\"Josh Cameron\" title=\"Josh Cameron\" width=\"5760\" height=\"5760\" class=\"undefined w-full w-full blur-[5px]\" q:id=\"7g\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Nov 29, 2025; Waco, Texas, USA;  Baylor Bears wide receiver Josh Cameron (34) makes a touchdown catch against Houston Cougars defensive back Will James (15) during the second half at McLane Stadium. | Chris Jones-Imagn Images<\/p>\n<p>Baylor WR Josh Cameron<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-10\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7n\">Cameron recorded 872 yards receiving and nine touchdowns during the 2025 season as a formidable force on the outside for Baylor. He stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 223 pounds, and he could be as reliable a pass catcher as teams will come by in this year\u2019s draft.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-11\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7q\">\u201cCameron is built like a big running back and is not shy about using that size, strength and body control to rack up touchdowns in the red zone,\u201d wrote NFL.com\u2019s Lance Zierlein. \u201cHe\u2019s smooth in tracking and adjusting to throws. Drops are a rarity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-12\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7t\">One of Cameron\u2019s strengths during his collegiate career was his ability to win 1-on-1 opportunities. He\u00a0has the ability to\u00a0beat press coverage and could be the matchup problem the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nfl\/bills\/onsi\/buffalo-bills-revealed-as-trade-fit-for-elite-wr-dk-metcalf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Bills have been looking for<\/a> on the outside.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-16\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"8d\">In a recent article,\u00a0ESPN\u2019s\u00a0Field Yates wrote about Hurst, \u201cWhen he reaches top speed, it\u2019s impressive to watch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-17\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"8g\">Yates projected Hurst as a player who could be available late on Day 2 or early on Day 3 of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nfl\/bills\/onsi\/bills-land-puka-nacua-comparison-in-new-2026-nfl-mock-draft\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">the draft<\/a>. He is 5-foot-10 and weighs 174 pounds, so he isn\u2019t the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nfl\/bills\/onsi\/draft-denzel-boston-big-bodied-big-ten-wr-projects-as-dream-draft-target-for-bills\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">big-bodied X-type wide receiver<\/a> the Bills need most. Still, his skillset is impressive.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-21\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"90\">\u201cColeman emerged as the Tigers\u2019 No. 1 wide receiver and a fifth-round prospect this season,\u201d wrote\u00a0ESPN\u2019s\u00a0Matt Miller. \u201cHis yards-after-catch ability \u2026 is notable. He\u2019s electric in space and has elite acceleration skills.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-22\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"93\">Coleman Jr. also has punt-return ability, which\u00a0is something\u00a0the Bills may seek to replace Shakir in\u00a0that role\u00a0this offseason.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"We have all heard a lot about the top wide receivers available in the 2026 NFL Draft.
