{"id":508597,"date":"2026-02-28T00:21:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-28T00:21:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/508597\/"},"modified":"2026-02-28T00:21:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-28T00:21:07","slug":"giants-scratch-rafael-devers-from-lineup-with-tight-hamstring-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/508597\/","title":{"rendered":"Giants scratch Rafael Devers from lineup with tight hamstring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. &#8212; The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com.au\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/sf\/san-francisco-giants\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">San Francisco Giants<\/a> scratched slugger <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/33859\/rafael-devers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rafael Devers<\/a> from the starting lineup because of a tight hamstring, keeping him out of a spring training game against the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com.au\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/lad\/los-angeles-dodgers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The three-time All-Star and 2018 World Series champion is starting his first full season with the Giants after they acquired him in a trade with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com.au\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/bos\/boston-red-sox\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Boston Red Sox<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n<p>Devers hit 35 home runs and had 109 RBIs last season, playing 90 games with San Francisco and 73 in Boston.
