Late Mail: Knights coach Justin Holbrook has revealed he believes Dylan Brown wearing the No.7 \u201cwon\u2019t change the way he plays\u201d. The club\u2019s marquee recruit has started 10 games at halfback in his NRL career, the most recent being Round 12 of the 2024 season. Brown has come away with a win twice in his halfback appearances, with one of those coming against the Panthers in Round 26 of the 2023 season, when a host of players were rested. Regardless, Holbrook is backing a dynamic combination that will see Brown partner Fletcher Sharpe to steer his side to a win in Las Vegas. \u201cSandon is going to play a heap of halves for us during the year but for round one he\u2019ll come off the bench. We\u2019re going to start with Dylan and Sharpey. I think they\u2019re really dangerous threats and that\u2019s the best make-up for our side for round one,\u201d Holbrook said to the Knights website. \u201cIt (wearing the seven) doesn\u2019t change where Dylan plays. Obviously where he\u2019s come from at Parramatta he\u2019s always had a dominant halves partner so he hasn\u2019t had to play that role, but he\u2019s totally comfortable organising the side… from a playing point of view it won\u2019t change the way he plays. We\u2019ll have some unpredictability with him, Sharpey and Kalyn all teaming up at different stages. Style of play won\u2019t change for Dylan.\u201d \u201cHe (Sharpe) reminds me a lot of Kurt Gidley. He can play anywhere. For round one I think it\u2019s best for our team he\u2019s in the halves. If he moves around during the year I think that\u2019s a luxury… and that\u2019s why we\u2019ve trained him in different positions in the pre-season.\u201d Elsewhere, Trey Mooney has been named to start in the front row after he was widely tipped to come off the bench. <\/p>\n
