It culminated with scrum-half Estanislao Pregot scoring in the corner. Peñarol responded through intelligence with Manuel Ardao taking a quick-tap from a penalty and scoring.

Los Tarucas held a 18-15 lead at half-time. It came after Justo Ferrario landed a penalty to close out the half. Ferrario scored a further penalty on 55 minutes but it was the only score of the second-half for the Uruguayans.
