{"id":509965,"date":"2026-02-28T15:56:12","date_gmt":"2026-02-28T15:56:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/509965\/"},"modified":"2026-02-28T15:56:12","modified_gmt":"2026-02-28T15:56:12","slug":"traitors-team-doing-monopoly-gameshow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/509965\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Traitors&#8221; Team Doing &#8220;Monopoly&#8221; Gameshow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/traitors-team-doing-monopoly-gameshow.jpg\" data-caption=\"Game Board Design by Hasbro\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/traitors-team-doing-monopoly-gameshow.jpg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"traitors-team-doing-monopoly-gameshow\"\/><\/a>Game Board Design by Hasbro<\/p>\n<p>Back in September came the news that around fifty companies were vying for the right to produce a Netflix game show based on the iconic board game \u201cMonopoly\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The push for this was inspired by the success of \u201cMonopoly Go!\u201d, which launched in 2023 and led to a desire to get an unscripted series on the air.<\/p>\n<p>We now have a winner with <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/02\/monopoly-studio-lambert-netflix-bake-off-1236737621\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Deadline<\/a> reporting that Studio Lambert, the company behind Peacock\u2019s game show hit \u201cThe Traitors\u201d and Netflix\u2019s \u201cSquid Game: The Challenge\u201d and \u201cThe Circle,\u201d has acquired the rights to the show after producing a winning pitch that Netflix praised for its originality.<\/p>\n<p>Netflix VP of unscripted series Jeff Gaspin tells the trade that Studio Lambert took inspiration from certain gameplay within \u201cMonopoly Go!\u201d in a way that \u201cwill resonate with gameplay in an unscripted series\u201d.
