Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv / Schedule

According to Noa Poplinger of Sport5, the team is trying to arrange the departure of both its foreign and Israeli players as soon as possible.

Hapoel is expected to return to Sofia, as the club is working to bring all staff members to Bulgaria to ensure the team can continue operating without interruption.

At the same time, this is a complex situation. The club is aware of the difficulties in arranging flights, given that the airspace is currently closed, but is attempting to secure a special exemption.

At present, the club’s foreign players, including members of the coaching staff, remain in Israel. There is also a possibility that the team could leave Israel by cruise ship.

Meanwhile, following the last EuroLeague game against Monaco, Maccabi Tel Aviv decided to keep several players from the roster abroad.

Those who chose to return to Israel were informed in advance that they would likely need to leave again quickly, as the club’s management had already prepared them for the possibility of an attack and the closure of Israeli airspace.

Yesterday afternoon, once it became clear that a strike was imminent and that the skies would be closed, Maccabi acted swiftly to arrange flights for the foreign players who remained in Israel.

According to the most recent report, all foreign players of the top Israeli league teams have been notified to leave Israel today via Egypt or Jordan, where a flight to Bulgaria will be waiting for them.

Like what we are doing?
