First-round draftees Bo Allan and Elijah Hewett have been left out of West Coast’s final pre-season clash while co-captain Liam Baker is back to take on Port Adelaide at Mineral Resources Park on Sunday.

Hewett lined up for the Eagles in a WAFL practice match on Saturday as he comes back from a calf injury, while Allan has been named as an emergency.

It comes as four of the five players picked up by the Eagles in the national draft in Willem Duursma (No.1), Cooper Duff-Tytler (No.4), Josh Lindsay (No.19) and Tylah Williams (No.39) will all get a chance to push for round one selection.

Baker — who was rested after representing Western Australia in AFL Origin on February 14 — is one of four additions to the team that took on Fremantle in last weekend’s match simulation alongside Lucca Grego, Harry Barnett and Williams.

Hewett came out of the side to play in the reserves alongside defender Brady Hough who is returning from an ankle injury.

Meanwhile Tim Kelly (hamstring) and Noah Long (knee) have come out of the team that took on the Dockers, while Allan, Clay Hall, Rhett Bazzo, Jack Williams and Tyrell Dewar were all omitted.

West Coast are dealing with several injuries leading into their round one clash against Gold Coast on March 15, with co-captain Liam Duggan (concussion), Reuben Ginbey (toe), Jack Graham (hamstring) and star Brandon Starcevich (calf) all unavailable.

Veteran Elliot Yeo will continue his build after being named for a second consecutive game, having missed all of last season with a serious ankle injury, while there was no room for recent signing Milan Murdock who was added to the rookie list on Friday.

Ruckman Harry Barnett has been named on the bench having last played for the AFL side in round two of the 2024 season.

Barnett is one of four ruckmen in the side alongside Duff-Tytler, No.1 bigman Matt Flynn and forward-ruck Archer Reid.

Port Adelaide have welcomed back star Zak Butters and forward Mitch Georgiades after they played AFL Origin, while East Fremantle’s Mitch Zadow has been named after he was picked up by the Power through the pre-season supplemental selection period.
