{"id":5107,"date":"2025-07-19T05:56:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-19T05:56:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/5107\/"},"modified":"2025-07-19T05:56:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-19T05:56:10","slug":"danilo-petrucci-compares-himself-with-nicolo-bulega-everything-i-do-im-slower","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/5107\/","title":{"rendered":"Danilo Petrucci compares himself with Nicolo Bulega: \u201cEverything I do, I\u2019m slower\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">Danilo Petrucci says the differences between himself and Nicolo Bulega are small, in terms of riding, but that, whatever he does, he ends up \u201cslower\u201d than his compatriot.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The two Italians shared the podium in Race 1 at the most recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/wsbk\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">World Superbike<\/a> round at Donington, although Petrucci was unable to finish in the top-three again in either Sunday race.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Comparing the two this year, Petrucci has been unable to finish ahead of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/wsbk\/racer\/1043899\/nicolo-bulega\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nicolo Bulega<\/a> in any race the both of them have completed.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI think Nicolo [Bulega] is using the full potential, I\u2019m at 90 or 95 [per cent] sometimes, but, more or less, he\u2019s always faster, so he\u2019s using better the bike,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/wsbk\/racer\/1215\/danilo-petrucci\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Danilo Petrucci<\/a> explained after Race 1 at the UK WorldSBK.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Petrucci said that Bulega\u2019s strength is in the corners where there is not a lot of load placed on the front tyre.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cHere [at Donington], there are small differences,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cFor example, in Misano he was really in another level in the corners where you don\u2019t have the load on the front. When we brake, we are the same level, but in the corners where you don\u2019t have to brake, you don\u2019t have load on the front, he is incredibly faster.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201c[At Donington] also, he is really good to stop the bike braking hard, pick up the bike and go. I\u2019m trying always to be faster in the middle of the corner but sometimes it pays and sometimes not.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt\u2019s always small gaps, small differences, but at the end of the laps it\u2019s two-tenths, three-tenths. In Misano it was five-tenths, six-tenth.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cBut, still, every time I try to do something different, he is faster.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWhen I brake harder, he brakes less and carries more speed; when I carry more speed, he brakes harder and he\u2019s still fast.
