\u201cSometimes when losses pile up like that, you feel like you can\u2019t get out of it,\u201d Laferriere said. \u201cI mean, there\u2019s so many games in a year, you know you\u2019re going to get a win eventually, but it\u2019s just about fighting through and getting that first one. I think that was huge for our group, and we\u2019re definitely going to try and build on it.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe needed that a lot. Top to bottom, everybody played really well tonight.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Los Angeles had allowed 22 goals in its past four games (0-4-0) and was coming off its worst loss of the season, an 8-1 defeat to the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re professional athletes. Nobody wants to lose, and no one wants to lose big like we did the other night. But losing big or losing small, it doesn\u2019t mater, it\u2019s still two points,\u201d Forsberg said. \u201cEverybody looked themselves in the mirror, came in with a better attitude tonight, and we got two points out of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dustin Wolf<\/a> made 35 saves for the Flames (24-28-6), who were playing the first game of a back to back and are at the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought we were fine, but when you\u2019re in close games, you\u2019ve got to find another level,\u201d Calgary coach Ryan Huska said. \u201cThat\u2019s, to me, what it looked like from the bench. You have a chance to grab a game when it\u2019s close, whether that\u2019s scoring a goal or making a better decision with the puck that led to their goal 5-on-5, those are the little things that I think were the difference in the game tonight.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Flames were shut out for the fourth time this season (4-0 to the Chicago Blackhawks on Nov. 7, 2-0 at the Minnesota Wild on Nov. 9, 1-0 in overtime at the Carolina Hurricanes on Nov. 30).<\/p>\n

Laferriere put the Kings up 1-0 at 15:36 of the second period with his 14th goal of the season.
