The Princess of Wales has stunned royal fans with her Welsh-speaking skills as she joined Prince William in sending a Happy St David’s Day to everyone in Wales.<\/p>\n

Catherine has never spoken in Welsh before, but did not disappoint in the video message posted on the couple’s social media channels.<\/p>\n

Both wearing daffodils, the couple spoke to the camera in Welsh, with English subtitles appearing below.<\/p>\n

William started off the message saying: “To everyone in Wales, a very Happy St David’s Day!”<\/p>\n

Catherine followed up with: “Wales is very close to our hearts, and we look forward to every visit.”<\/p>\n

Royal fans have been raining down praise on the couple’s message in Welsh, which has garnered nearly 20,000 likes on Instagram in under half an hour.<\/p>\n

William and Catherine have recently been in Wales, travelling to Powys to honour the Welsh county’s<\/a> remarkable record of community service.<\/p>\n

Powys holds the distinction of having more volunteers per head of population than any other county in the United Kingdom, making it a fitting destination for the royal couple’s celebration of grassroots community efforts.<\/p>\n

The Hanging Gardens serves as a creative and community-focused space dedicated to building resilience among residents of Llanidloes and the surrounding area.<\/p>\n

The venue operates as a multifaceted hub offering a caf\u00e9, performing arts centre, indoor market, community garden, kitchens and workshop facilities, all centred on principles of sustainable living and artistic expression.<\/p>\n

At Oriel Davies, a contemporary art gallery in rural Newtown, the couple viewed work produced through a project funded by the Alexandra Reinhardt Memorial Award, which focuses on supporting the mental health and confidence of local children and young people.<\/p>\n

Artist Nicky Arscott has led regular creative workshops encouraging social connections through engagement with nature and celebration of diverse cultures.<\/p>\n
