Mitchell Starc has cheekily roasted wife Alyssa Healy after the retiring champion had a rare bowl in the final one-day international of her glittering career.<\/p>\n
Healy bowed out in style with the bat, scoring a brilliant century to lay the platform for Australia\u2019s series-clinching victory over India<\/a>.<\/p>\n WATCH THE VIDEO ABOVE: Alyssa Healy\u2019s first ball in international cricket<\/p>\n Know the news with the 7NEWS app: Download today Arrow<\/a><\/p>\n The 35-year-old\u2019s imperious 158 is the highest women\u2019s one-day score against India and the highest women\u2019s one-day international innings in Australia.<\/p>\n Fellow wicketkeeper Beth Mooney also scored an unbeaten ton on Sunday as Australia amassed 7-409, their highest domestic score and only three short of the home side\u2019s overall record.<\/p>\n India made a quick start to their massive run chase \u2014 they would have needed to break their own record to win \u2014 but they lost key wickets early and were never seriously in the hunt.<\/p>\n With the game in hand, Australia gave Healy a bowl for the first time in her international career, much to the delight of the crowd at Bellerive Oval.<\/p>\n But things started poorly with Healy\u2019s first ball short and wide, and easily dispatched for a boundary by Indian Sneh Rana.<\/p>\n Husband Starc, one of Australia\u2019s greatest ever fast bowlers, was in the Channel 7 commentary booth at the time and could be seen shaking his head before delivering a perfect five-word response.<\/p>\n \u201cNot that easy, is it?\u201d he quipped.<\/p>\n Fellow commentators Jason Richardson and Elyse Villani were in hysterics at the comment.<\/p>\n \u201cIt didn\u2019t take much to get talked into (bowling) \u2014 I heard my name mentioned once and I said \u2018righto\u2019,\u201d Healy joked.<\/p>\n Healy recovered to only concede two of the remaining five balls in the over.<\/p>\n She returned for a second over, but failed to get a wicket as she finished her career with the figures of 0-12 from two overs.<\/p>\n While there was no fairytale wicket, there was a farewell century.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat a ridiculous sport that we play, that it can kick you down so many times and then give you opportunities like it has today,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve hated every milestone match, so today was just an opportunity to go out and enjoy it.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was one of the more enjoyable experiences I\u2019ve had, so thanks to the cricket gods for that, it was a nice way to sign off in the yellow.\u201d<\/p>\n The Indians formed a guard of honour for Healy\u2019s last ODI innings, with the opener retiring from all cricket after next week\u2019s Perth Test.<\/p>\n Healy started cramping in the 80s, but that only seemed to fire her up more. The 35-year-old great belted 27 fours and two sixes in her 98-ball masterclass.<\/p>\n It was her eighth one-day international ton, equalling Karen Rolton and behind only Meg Lanning\u2019s 15 as the most by an Australian.<\/p>\n She was bowled trying a trick shot off an innocuous full toss from Sneh Rana, just 12 runs shy of her highest one-day international score.<\/p>\n The tourists were bowled out for 224 in 45.1 overs, giving Australia a 185-run win and an unbeatable lead in the multi-format series.<\/p>\n
