Around $7.1 million of that global total came from IMAX alone.

Those numbers are way ahead of the $44 million domestic and $60 million worldwide projected totals last week. Domestically, it’s also the best horror opening ever for Paramount, and the best opening ever for a February horror movie.

The film was created with a final production budget of $45 million, meaning it has more than doubled that already and should be quite profitable before it leaves cinemas.

“Goat” was second domestically $12 million (down 29%) followed by “Wuthering Heights” in third with $7 million (down 53%). Concert films “Twenty One Pilots: More Than We Ever Imagined – Live in Mexico City” at $3.7 million and “EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert” with $3.5 million rounded out the top five with the Elvis film going up 9% in its second weekend.

Worldwide, the Chinese racecar movie “Pegasus 3” had a big weekend – pulling in $50.3 million worldwide, bringing its total up to $554.2 million. “Wuthering Heights” is now up to $192 million globally and “Goat” at $130.5 million.

Source: Deadline

Previous articleThird “Mortal Kombat” Film Script Teased

Next articleNetflix Plans More ‘Creative’ Theatrical Runs

Paramount Pictures Despite the worst reviews of the series, and a B- CinemaScore from audiences, Paramount and Spyglass’…

[27
64,63,142132,134,344
post-513208","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-movies","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-bigslider","tag-entertainment","tag-movies
["GET
