(ABC News: Elise Worthington)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Police Minister Dan Purdie said the current model had failed and pointed to data from the National Wastewater Drug Monitoring Program to suggest drug use had spiked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;Offenders could be caught with dangerous drugs like fentanyl, like heroin, multiple times and still avoid meaningful consequences.
