Now owned by DAZN, Foxtel has seen off competition from commercial network Nine, whose chief executive Matt Stanton said last year<\/a> that the company was \u201cdefinitely\u201d interested in acquiring Formula One rights for Stan Sports. The Age also previously reported<\/a> that Paramount-owned Ten would \u2018likely\u2019 consider bidding for the full package.<\/p>\n Ten has had to settle for the FTA rights to the Australian Grand Prix, which it has shown since 2017 thanks to the Australian government\u2019s anti-siphoning broadcast laws which dictate that domestic events must be available for free.<\/p>\n Foxtel\u2019s extension with Formula One follows the most-watched season ever on Kayo, which saw users stream 898 million minutes over the course of the 2025 campaign, an increase of 26 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n It also comes after Foxtel retained the domestic rights<\/a> to Australia\u2019s Supercars Championship in a deal reportedly<\/a> worth AUS$50 million (US$32.6 million) per season for the next four years.\u00a0The broadcaster\u2019s motorsport portfolio also includes MotoGP, Nascar and the World Superbike Championship.<\/p>\n Comment:<\/p>\n Patrick Delany, chief executive of Foxtel Group, said: \u201cKayo Sports is Australia\u2019s sport leader with the best live sport, and our extension with Formula One further cements our position as the premier destination for both local and international motorsport.<\/p>\n \u201cThis extension continues our commitment to growing F1 in Australia and strengthening our fans\u2019 connection to it.
