I went to race in Europe after I won the British Championship, so 2024 was the first time in about six years I’d raced in the UK, and having that moment again, doing my first FP1 in the UK where I learned so much, was very special.

“To be honest, a big part of why I’ve been able to get to Formula 1 is because I’m British. The level in the lower categories is extremely high, for sure the weather not always being the greatest helps, and there’s no mystery [about] why there are five British drivers on the grid in F1.
