Sometimes the best moments are the ones we don’t capture ourselves.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We reached out and asked for your photos of the blood moon total lunar eclipse from around Australia.<\/p>\n

From the city to the beach to regional backyards, here’s what we got.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Queensland<\/p>\n

Mick and his son walked along Sunshine Beach in Queensland as they watched the moon eclipse halfway before a dark storm and clouds rolled over.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“We hurried home to dodge the rain, but snagged these pics,” the father said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Once the clouds cleared, a reddish-orange moon appeared.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Linda’s 97-year-old mum witnessed the eclipse shine through her bedroom window in Strathpine in Queensland.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“We were happy to show my 97-year-old mum, who’s not very mobile, this lovely moon as it shone outside of her bedroom window. She was thrilled to see it so close.”<\/p>\n

Amateur photographer Tony Belton was able to capture photos of the moon from the deck of his home in Iluka, north of Yamba.<\/p>\n

“I just sat on my verandah, and sure enough it came up, and there were clouds around the moon, but they broke away fortunately, and I was able to get some nice shots off,” he told ABC North Coast.<\/p>\n

“I just had a tripod on the verandah.”<\/p>\n

High school student Elise, 15, loves science and will sit her chemistry exam later this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Stars and high-rise buildings framed the blood moon in Perth.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She celebrates New Year’s Eve on March 3rd.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“It was wonderful to ponder what lies ahead while witnessing the sheer magnificence of nature,” she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I didn’t take any photos as I wanted to take it all in and not get distracted.
