Image: XPB Images<\/p>\n<p>After<a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/f1-news-2026-australian-grand-prix-rule-change-pit-lane-speed-limit-infrastructure-cadillac-update\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> earlier reports suggested the limit would drop from 80km\/h to 60km\/h to ease congestion from Formula 1\u2019s new 11-team grid<\/a>, the FIA has since clarified that no reduction will be implemented for this year\u2019s race and the speed limit will stay at 80km\/h for the 2026 season opener.<\/p>\n<p>The initial suggestion of a cut came from Australian Grand Prix chief events officer Tom Mottram, who outlined the logistical squeeze created by Cadillac\u2019s arrival as the sport\u2019s newest entrant.<\/p>\n<p>Mottram had indicated the speed limit would be reduced as part of what he described as a temporary adjustment to manage tighter conditions.<\/p>\n<p>However, the FIA\u2019s clarification means teams will operate under the standard 80km\/h limit, removing the strategic implications that a slower pit lane would have brought.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/t.cfjump.com\/92797\/b\/285241\" rel=\"nofollow sponsored noopener\" data-bid=\"1\" data-no-instant=\"1\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; vertical-align: middle;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/285241.gif\" alt=\"\"\/><br \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The pit lane limit at Albert Park will remain unchanged this weekend.
