TL;DR

Nothing has announced its affordable Nothing Headphone (a) over-ear cans.

These promise 135 hours of battery life, LDAC audio, and adaptive noise cancelation.

Global preorders begin March 5 for $199.

After weeks of speculation and leaks, Nothing has finally unveiled the Headphone (a). These expand the company’s over-ear lineup with a more expressive design while emphasizing marathon endurance. In particular, Nothing claims the headphones can deliver up to 135 hours of listening time with ANC turned off. That figure drops somewhat with noise cancelation enabled, but even so, the company positions the Headphone (a) as a category leader for battery performance. If you’re in a bind, a quick 5-minute charge reportedly provides up to 5 hours of playback. There are other handy features baked in, too, alongside these impressive battery life claims.

Design, controls, and durability

"Nothing

The Nothing Headphone (a) feature the same tactile controls as the Headphone (1).

The Nothing Headphone (a) take a lot of inspiration from their more expensive Headphone (1) sibling. For example, the headphones weigh 310g and feature memory foam ear cushions. They also carry an IP52 rating for dust protection and water resistance, which should cover workouts and light rain. Fashion-conscious buyers will appreciate the available Black, White, Pink, and Yellow color options.

Nothing continues its tactile control scheme with an integrated Roller, Paddle, and Button built directly into the ear cups. These physical controls allow users to adjust volume, change tracks, and switch ANC modes without relying on touch gestures. Nothing’s “Channel Hop” feature reappears, allowing users to cycle between apps or audio functions using the hardware Button. The same Button can also function as a remote camera shutter. However, like their predecessor, these features are likely reserved for those with a Nothing Phone (3) or newer.

What features does Nothing Headphone (a) offer?

"A

The Nothing Headphone (a) ship in White, Black, Pink, and Yellow colorways.

The Headphone (a) support high-quality wireless audio transmission with the LDAC codec. This delivers scalable bitrates up to 990 kbps and a bit depth and sample rate of up to 24-bit/96kHz. Inside, the headphones house 40mm titanium-coated drivers that are reportedly designed to maintain structural rigidity under load. Nothing claims this helps to reduce distortion.

Adaptive active noise cancelation includes low, mid, and high presets, along with a Transparency Mode that lets outside sounds through. Nothing says a hybrid feedforward and feedback microphone system, with AI processing, works to adjust noise cancelation in real time based on fit and environmental noise. For calls, a three-microphone system uses an AI-based noise-reduction algorithm trained on millions of noise scenarios, aiming to isolate the user’s voice in busy environments.

Downloading the Nothing X app unlocks an 8-band EQ with advanced manual tuning. The app also allows custom EQ sharing within the Nothing community with publishable QR codes. You also receive a real-time bass enhancement algorithm that analyzes low-frequency content and dynamically adjusts the output. As always, we’ll reserve judgment regarding how effective this is until we can test it ourselves.

Pricing and availability

The Nothing Headphone (a) cost $199, undercutting their flagship sibling by $100. Global preorders begin March 5, 2026, through nothing.tech and select retail partners, and open sales start March 13, 2026, for the White, Black, and Pink models. The limited-edition Yellow version arrives April 6, 2026.
