In addition to the WCC defeat, the news of Haas leaving the club in free agency has resulted in a less than ideal pre-season which has now carried into the season proper.<\/p>\n

There have been rumblings that Haas decided to sign with Souths from 2027 because of displeasure at the Broncos, and whether fairly or unfairly, if Brisbane perform poorly, it\u2019ll be noise that won\u2019t go away.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot is going to be said whether you agree with it or not about him and his move to Souths and whether that impacts on this performance and even the next few weeks, and months,\u201d Fox League\u2019s Braith Anasta said after the Broncos\u2019 loss.<\/p>\n

Haas was solid without being spectacular against Penrith, running for 114 metres and making 38 tackles. <\/p>\n

\u201cI thought he was one of Brisbane\u2019s better forwards,\u201d Walters said before Anasta interjected.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t necessarily mean him though. I mean the noise is going to more be around the group because he\u2019s always going to turn up and give his all,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSubconsciously, does it have an impact (on the rest of the group)? I\u2019m not sure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fox League\u2019s Michael Ennis says it\u2019s a distraction the Broncos don\u2019t need and simply didn\u2019t have during their premiership run last year.<\/p>\n
