\n\tI don\u2019t know if I necessarily had it for this one, but it was definitely in the pipeline. Like this is gonna be one of the joints on whatever\u2019s next.<\/p>\n
\n\tI was into the Todd Snyder reference for the haberdashers and Errol\u2019s Buster Brown and Florsheim mentions. That\u2019s where people of a certain age used to go cop their church shoes back in the day.<\/p>\n

\n\tErrol, can you give us some insight on your verse on there?<\/p>\n
\n\tE.H.: I started off with, \u201cSmooth ride up the West Side, talking to my man in the FCI, he gotta phone\/ Soon as I hang up with him, I get a FaceTime from Tone.\u201d I mean, you know, that\u2019s real life. I was talking to my man in that\u2019s in the federal penitentiary and soon as I hung up, my man Tone called me. He was sitting in the Autobiography Range Rover while we were talking, and then it goes off into a bunch of other stuff. I believe, on that one right there, you sent me the beat. I did my verse first.<\/p>\n
\n\tYeah, I was gonna ask, was this an older verse? Was this something that you wrote to the beat?<\/p>\n
\n\tE.H.: Yeah, I wrote that to the beat and then I think he had came to New York. When we was in the studio, he heard it and he said, \u201cYo, send me that.\u201d And the we didn\u2019t talk about it for a while, and then maybe a couple of months later, he kept saying, \u201cYo, send me the joint.\u201d I couldn\u2019t remember exactly what he was referring to, and he was like, \u201cThe one where you say you autographed the project stove.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tAlso, Roc, I feel like you\u2019re not underrated anymore \u2014 you were for a little bit \u2014 but I liked the line where you said, \u201cIf we rating th\u0435 pen, if I ain\u2019t top 10, the list was created by atheists.\u201d I feel like you wanted to show people that you\u2019re top five, top 10 \u2014 because after it dropped you were tweeting and talking s\u2014t, which you don\u2019t really do.<\/p>\n
\n\tYeah, I\u2019m one of them guys. I\u2019m pound-for-pound.<\/p>\n
\n\tAs a producer and a rapper?<\/p>\n
\n\tE.H.: Who\u2019s a better producer\/rapper? And I\u2019m asking.<\/p>\n
\n\tWell, I\u2019m biased, because \u2014 and he knows this already \u2014 but since 2010, Roc has been my personal favorite.<\/p>\n
\n\tI model myself after guys like Q-Tip, Large Professor. Those are the guys I modeled myself after.<\/p>\n
\n\tE.H.: In all fairness, and I don\u2019t how much of his own production he does, but Jay Electronica comes to mind.
