After a marking contest on the wing, Andrews attempted to put a block on Bulldogs opponent Artie Jones as a way to prevent him from gaining possession. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019re going to throw that (elbow) back like that, you run the risk of going through the matrix, which I\u2019m certain it will.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cHarris Andrews put a block on – now, I\u2019m sure it\u2019s not intentional, but Harris looked around, identified where Artie was, and thrown his arm back to put a block on. <\/p>\n
\u201cBut he is in some trouble, I would have thought, (since) Artie Jones went out of the game with a concussion, and it is high contact. <\/p>\n
\u201cSo, I think he\u2019s got a few worries there.\u201d<\/p>\n
Given Jones was knocked out, Andrew is likely facing multiple weeks on the sidelines, with upcoming Brisbane matchups against Sydney and St Kilda. <\/p>\n
Post-match, on Fox Footy\u2019s Super Saturday Live, Jay Clark, David King and Jack Riewoldt offered their views on the contentious incident. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a two-match holiday at least, for mine,\u201d Clark said. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe comes back with that swinging left arm \u2026 clearly makes contact with his elbow \u2026 hits (Jones\u2019) cheekbone. That ended his (Jones\u2019) night. He is concussed. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe way the MRO has treated these is (that) concussion is severe impact, so that\u2019s a three-match holiday. I think it\u2019ll be careless and severe. <\/p>\n
\u201cWith the new MRO rules you can downgrade it by one or two\u2026 but I think that\u2019s at least two matches for Harris Andrews. That is a careless act \u2026 you owe the opposition a duty of care, and in that instance, he didn\u2019t show it.\u201d<\/p>\n
King said: \u201cNot for one minute do I think he intended any of this. When he\u2019s thrown the arm back, I think he\u2019s looking to body check him, really. That\u2019s the mechanism. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s gone horribly wrong, it\u2019s unfortunate \u2026 for me, it\u2019s almost only a one-week slapper. I hate concussion more than anyone, but I don\u2019t think he had any idea he was going to do this.\u201d<\/p>\n
Riewoldt added: \u201cIt\u2019s quite simple for me. He wasn\u2019t making a play at the ball, and he was making a play on the player. If you throw a swinging arm in a contest like that, you serve the penalty.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Lions\u2019 co-captain\u2019s fate will be revealed by the Match Review Officer on Sunday night – as will Bailey and Gardiner\u2019s. <\/p>\n
Bailey, taking umbrage to being tackled over the boundary line, is set to be cited for an intentional elbow to the head of Bulldogs debutant Michael Sellwood. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis could be a one-match suspension,\u201d Clark said. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis would be an intentional act. He\u2019s over the boundary line, swings with that elbow \u2026 that\u2019s an intentional elbow to Michael Sellwood\u2019s head.\u201d<\/p>\n
A grading of intentional conduct with low impact would result in a one-match ban, while a medium impact grading would see Bailey suspended for two games. <\/p>\n

Gardiner, lastly, could be cited for a forearm to the head of Aaron Naughton, which resulted in a decisive 50-metre penalty late in proceedings. <\/p>\n
\u201cI think he might be okay – you can see he sort of gets him high with a forearm, elbow to the head,\u201d Clark said. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt doesn\u2019t look amazing, does it. So, that\u2019ll definitely be looked at.\u201d<\/p>\n
