Arsenal are still fighting for glory on four fronts after surviving an almighty FA Cup scare<\/a> by Mansfield Town. After Mikel Arteta<\/a> made nine changes to his starting line-up, the Gunners<\/a> were pushed all the way by the League One outfit.<\/p>\n

Nigel Clough’s side levelled on 50 minutes through Will Evans to cancel out Noni Madueke’s opener just before the break. But Eberechi Eze spared the 14-time winners’ blushes with the winner midway through the second half.<\/p>\n

Having rested key players like Declan Rice<\/a>, the result sets the Gunners up nicely for the Champions League trip to Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday and the return to Premier League duty against Everton<\/a> on Saturday. Here’s a round-up of the latest Gunners news…<\/p>\n

Arteta sack verdict<\/p>\n

Arteta has been backed to stay on as head coach, even if the Gunners fall short in the Premier League<\/a> again. Arsenal<\/a> have finished runner-up to Manchester City<\/a> twice and Liverpool<\/a> in the last three seasons.<\/p>\n

Missing out again would be seen as a failure by many, unless the Gunners can make amends by winning the Champions League<\/a> for the first time. However, former Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere believes the team is on the right track regardless of how the rest of the season pans out.<\/p>\n

He told Gambling.com<\/a>: “I believe Arsenal have the right head coach for long-term success and it’s showing its rewards with the support from the board to support Mikel’s transfers over the summer. Arsenal are still in all four competitions and the depth of the squad is proving to be key for Arsenal this season.<\/p>\n

“Should Arsenal somehow not achieve the title, I still believe Mikel Arteta<\/a> is the right man for the job long term and is producing a brilliant culture at the club and the players coming in.<\/p>\n

“The young English talent are all performing well as a group and you can see this by the results that Mikel is showing real consistency now as head coach with the title in sight.<\/p>\n

“Plus, we also have to look at other trophies as Arsenal are in the final of the Carabao Cup, FA Cup<\/a>, they are progressing nicely and in the knockout stages of the Champions League, with a faultless Group Stage.”<\/p>\n

Jesus tipped for departure<\/p>\n

Ray Parlour believes Gabriel Jesus will leave Arsenal this summer. The Gunners will reportedly have to sell at least one player in the summer to balance the books following last summer’s significant outlay on new signings.<\/p>\n

One of the most obvious candidates to leave is Jesus, who cost the club \u00a345million from Man City in 2022. The Brazilian’s contract is due to expire in the summer of 2027 and there appears to be little appetite to tie him to a new deal.<\/p>\n

Therefore, cashing in this summer would make the most sense. Gunners legend Parlour told the Metro <\/a>via BetMGM: “I think Jesus might leave at the end of the season, he is at that age where he wants to be playing week in, week out.<\/p>\n

“We could lose him. We had four strikers when I played. That’s what I don\u2019t understand. [Regardless of Jesus leaving], bring in another one anyway. That can give the other options a lift because they see the standard being set.”<\/p>\n
