The\u00a0rising fashion model, 17, who continues to take the fashion industry by storm<\/a> since publicly coming out as\u00a0transgender<\/a>\u00a0last year, wore a chic black ensemble as she posed up a storm alongside her famous mother, 57, ahead of the show.<\/p>\n

Further accessorising her look with a Balenciaga belt and a black clutch bag, Kai opted for a smoky eyeshadow palette for the event.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Naomi opted to match her daughter in an all-black ensemble of her own.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The actress stunned in a black strapless top with a curved neckline and matching black trousers as she posed for photos alongside Kai.\u00a0<\/p>\n

To complete her look, she added inches to her frame with heels and toted her essentials in a mini black clutch.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In June last year, Kai opened up about her struggles with gender identity from a young age and her coming out journey.<\/a><\/p>\n

While speaking to Interview Magazine<\/a>, the rising star explained she ‘always wanted to grow up and be a beautiful, glamorous, influential woman, like Marilyn Monroe’.<\/p>\n

Additionally, she praised stars, like Alex Consani, Hunter Schafer, Hari Nef, Dara, Richie Shazam and Colin Jones, for being inspirational to her ‘as a young trans girl’ navigating life through turbulent times for the community.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘I’m always going to look up to the older generation of transgender people, especially in fashion,’ Kai told the magazine. ‘It’s so great that there’s a strong community of us in the fashion world; it’s really a doll takeover.’<\/p>\n

The second-generation star said that she had a breakthrough earlier this year when working for the fashion house Valentino.<\/p>\n

‘That job made me realize, “OK, this is what I want to do. I want to be a supermodel.” Period.’<\/p>\n

Kai also opened up to the publication about what she\u2019s been doing in terms of honing her craft as a regular presence on the catwalk.<\/p>\n

‘I’ve been practicing my walks in the kitchen for years; my mom can show you all the videos I forced her to film,’ Kai said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kai also shared her fashion preferences in the wide-ranging chat with the outlet – joking she’s ‘basic, but in a chic way’.<\/p>\n

‘I love my low-rise jeans and black cardigan. That’s my go-to outfit. I love when people have their own personal style,’ she said. ‘If you’re presenting yourself in a unique, cool way, people are immediately drawn in and want to know more. If every person was walking around in the same outfit, fashion wouldn’t be a thing.’<\/p>\n

In May, her father\u00a0Liev Schreiber praised his daughter for coming out as transgender.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Kai was always who Kai is. But I suppose the most profound moment was her asking us to change her pronouns,’ Liev told Variety.<\/p>\n

‘To be honest with you, it didn’t feel like that big of a deal to me only because Kai had been so feminine for so long.’<\/p>\n

Liev also applauded the teen’s strength and bravery while expressing, ‘Kai is such a fighter. It’s important that she goes, “Hey, I am trans,” and, “Look at me,” and, “F*** you. F*** off.”‘<\/p>\n

In regards to advice he has for parents who also have kids who have come out as trans, Liev simply stated, ‘I don’t know the answer for your kid.’<\/p>\n

He further explained that he felt it was ‘an overstep’ for him to do so due to every circumstance being unique and different.<\/p>\n

The actor, however, did briefly talk about raising teenagers in general and said, ‘I guess if I would say anything to someone who’s having trouble with their trans teen or their adolescent trans kid it’s “Teenagers are a f***ing headache. They’re hard.”<\/p>\n

‘It doesn’t matter whether they’re trans or not because you’ll come out of this. But a trans teen is going to be a teen.’<\/p>\n

The Perfect Couple star continued, ‘They’re such a pain in the a** so much of the time, and Kai is as feisty and outspoken as they come.’<\/p>\n
