{"id":528736,"date":"2026-03-09T11:41:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-09T11:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/528736\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T11:41:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T11:41:08","slug":"rangers-claim-dairon-blanco-jordan-montgomery-to-60-day-il","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/528736\/","title":{"rendered":"Rangers claim Dairon Blanco; Jordan Montgomery to 60-day IL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ARLINGTON, Texas &#8212; The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/tex\/texas-rangers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Texas Rangers<\/a> claimed outfielder <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/42228\/dairon-blanco\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dairon Blanco<\/a> off waivers from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/kc\/kansas-city-royals\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kansas City Royals<\/a> on Sunday and placed left-hander <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/38173\/jordan-montgomery\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jordan Montgomery<\/a> on the 60-day injured list to make room for the 32-year-old Cuban on the roster.<\/p>\n<p>Blanco, who was designated for assignment by Kansas City last week, batted .257 with seven home runs and 34 RBIs in 171 career major league games over four seasons. A member of the Rangers&#8217; only World Series championship in 2023, the lefty went 4-2 with a 2.79 ERA in 11 regular-season games for the Rangers after he was acquired at the trade deadline.<\/p>\n<p>He won two games in the AL Championship Series, including the Game 7 clincher at Houston.
