AFL great Jordan Lewis has taken aim at Harris Andrews after the Lions skippers\u2019 errant elbow left Dogs defender Arthur Jones out cold.<\/p>\n

Late in the third quarter of the contest on Saturday night, Jones went to hunt down the loose ball as Andrews glanced over his shoulder before throwing his left arm out.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for the Lions captain, his left elbow slammed into the face of the Dogs player which turned his lights off instantly.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, the AFL handed a three-match ban for striking for the hit with Lewis saying the act has no place in the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cGet that out of the game,\u201d Lewis said on On The Couch on Monday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it is absolutely three weeks and it could have been more.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a bad look for the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhenever a player is on the ground, players have unbelievable awareness.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe knows exactly where Arty Jones is and he even has a sneaky look, so a swinging arm is absolutely careless.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nathan Buckley added: \u201cI think the swinging arm is deliberate, but I don\u2019t think by any stretch that Harris Andrews was trying to collect him in the head.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brisbane confirmed earlier on Monday that they would head to the Tribunal to challenge the lengthy ban handed down to Andrews.<\/p>\n

As it stands, the star defender would miss matches against Sydney, St Kilda and Collingwood before returning in Round 5.<\/p>\n

AFL Match Review Officer Michael Christian determined Andrews\u2019 contact was careless, high and of severe impact, with Jones taking no further part in the contest after the third-quarter strike.<\/p>\n

Andrews wasn\u2019t the only player hit with a ban by the AFL MRO with Darcy Gardiner and Zac Bailey charged with one-match sanctions.<\/p>\n

The Lions have accepted Bailey\u2019s ban, meaning he will miss the club\u2019s Saturday night blockbuster against Sydney.<\/p>\n

Gardiner will also head to the Tribunal in an attempt to have his one-match ban overturned after he was cited for a forearm to the head of Aaron Naughton, which resulted in a decisive 50-metre penalty late in proceedings.<\/p>\n

The AFL Tribunal will take place on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
