It hasn\u2019t been fixed and has now gotten worse.<\/p>\n<p>Per <a class=\"color-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.windowslatest.com\/2025\/07\/16\/windows-11-july-2025-update-issues-confirmed-microsoft-says-it-falsely-claimed-fixes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/www.windowslatest.com\/2025\/07\/16\/windows-11-july-2025-update-issues-confirmed-microsoft-says-it-falsely-claimed-fixes\/\" aria-label=\"Windows Latest\">Windows Latest<\/a>, this follows a Windows 11 24H2 bug triggering \u201ca critical Firewall error.\u201d This \u201cfalse, harmless error\u201d confused users and caused alarm. Microsoft then \u201cincorrectly claimed the error is patched in Windows 11 KB5062553, [but] in reality, the update introduced error for everyone instead of fixing it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Windows Latest has been tracking this error since the beginning, reporting \u201cthat the Firewall issue wasn\u2019t fixed. The error which is flagged as \u201cWindows Firewall With Advanced Security 2042 None\u201d is completely is simply a reporting bug and \u201cposes no harm to your PC.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As Windows Latest says, \u201cMicrosoft has already admitted that the warning is caused by a code bug that crept in with recent updates for Windows 11\u202f24H2. This despite the u-turn that has <a class=\"color-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/zakdoffman\/2025\/06\/24\/microsofts-free-upgrade-deadline-for-400-million-windows-users\/\" data-ga-track=\"InternalLink:https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/zakdoffman\/2025\/06\/24\/microsofts-free-upgrade-deadline-for-400-million-windows-users\/\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"essentially extended Windows 10\u2019s end of life\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">essentially extended Windows 10\u2019s end of life<\/a> for most users for another 12 months, until October 2026.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"embed-base color-body color-body-border link-embed embed-2\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/zakdoffman\/2025\/07\/18\/ios-26-apples-iphone-upgrade-may-be-bad-news-for-google\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"iOS 26\u2014Apple\u2019s iPhone Upgrade May Be Bad News For Google\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-ga-track=\"forbesEmbedly:https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/zakdoffman\/2025\/07\/18\/ios-26-apples-iphone-upgrade-may-be-bad-news-for-google\/\">ForbesiOS 26\u2014Apple\u2019s iPhone Upgrade May Be Bad News For GoogleBy Zak Doffman<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For those still on Windows 10 who might be feeling rather smug at avoiding these Windows 11 issues, <a class=\"color-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.windowslatest.com\/2025\/07\/17\/microsoft-confirms-windows-10-kb5062554-breaks-emoji-pickers-search-feature\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/www.windowslatest.com\/2025\/07\/17\/microsoft-confirms-windows-10-kb5062554-breaks-emoji-pickers-search-feature\/\" aria-label=\"Windows Latest\">Windows Latest<\/a> has just issued a new warning, given that its own recent updates are not faring any better.<\/p>\n<p>It warns that July\u2019s Windows 10 security update \u201chas wrecked some elements of the emoji picker for users.\u201d This comes in addition to a fault whereby parents using Family Safety\u2019s web filtering \u201ccannot approve anything except Edge\u2026 because Microsoft has to update their block list with the latest versions of all the supported browsers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s still lightweight compared to Windows 11 issues. In picking up on this new \u201crare apology,\u201d <a class=\"color-link\" href=\"https:\/\/hothardware.com\/news\/microsoft-issues-rare-apology-for-a-windows-update-mistake\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/hothardware.com\/news\/microsoft-issues-rare-apology-for-a-windows-update-mistake\" aria-label=\"HotHardware\">HotHardware<\/a> pointedly lists out Windows 11\u202f24H2\u2019s \u201cfair share of issues,\u201dwhich are extensive, and even include errant blue screens of death for gamers. \u201cMicrosoft assures users that these issues are being actively addressed.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Microsoft issues user apology.
