The opening day of the &#8220;Race to the Sun&#8221; led to a bunch sprint where Visma | Lease a Bike opted to not get overly involved besides Axel Zingle who crossed the line 9th on his own. But Campenaerts was still awarded a yellow card alongside a small fine for the sprint finish? How so?The 34-year-old explained to <a href=\"https:\/\/sporza.be\/nl\/2026\/03\/09\/victor-campenaerts-staat-op-rand-van-uitsluiting-door-onoplettendheid-in-parijs-nice-we-moeten-de-regels-volgen~1773055462505\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Sporza<\/a> afterwards what was his misconduct: &#8220;I threw my water bottle away in the finish area, but the rule is that you&#8217;re not allowed to throw it away on a flat surface. Although I think a lot of people were happy to see a water bottle there. The rules have been adjusted.
