KISS bassist Gene Simmons didn’t hold back with his opinions, telling fellow celebrities to ‘shut the f— up’ about politics, despite going on a minute-long rant himself\"Gene<\/p>\n

Gene Simmons has been labeled a hypocrite after he told fellow celebrities to “shut up” about politics.<\/p>\n

The KISS co-founder was stopped <\/a>on the street earlier this week, where he was asked about Ben Stiller <\/a>condemning the Trump administration for using a clip from his 2008 movie Tropic Thunder on its social media.<\/p>\n

On March 5, the Trump administration posted a montage on X<\/a> titled “JUSTICE THE AMERICAN WAY”. The video combined actual military strike footage from “Operation Epic Fury” in Iran with clips from various movies and video games, including Tropic Thunder, Top Gun, Braveheart and Grand Theft Auto.<\/p>\n

After the video was shared online, Stiller wrote on X, “Hey White House, please remove the Tropic Thunder clip. We never gave you permission and have no interest in being a part of your propaganda machine. War is not a movie.”<\/p>\n

Days later, Gene Simmons was quizzed on the social media debacle,<\/a> as TMZ <\/a>asked him, “It sounds like a lot of people are criticizing Trump, like in Hollywood right now. You know, over this war thing. Is that fair?”<\/p>\n

Responding, the award-winning musician sarcastically said, “Yeah, because everybody in the world should listen to what actors and comedians say. Because they’re so qualified.”<\/p>\n

However, Simmons didn’t stop there, as he launched into an expletive-filled rant, <\/a>remarking, “Basically, they should shut the f— up. Do your art and shut up. Nobody’s interested in your opinions, that includes me, who I vote for, who I like. Who the f— do you think you are?”<\/p>\n

Continuing, Gene then added, “People in America work hard for their living,” he said, wagging his finger, “And they don’t want to be lectured to by people in their mansions, who drive Rolls-Royces. It’s time for everyone in the entertainment industry to shut their piehole and just do your art. Nobody cares what you think. I don’t.”<\/p>\n

The Rock and Roll All Nite musician also decided to take aim at Mark Ruffalo, who has been vocal recently about his disdain for the Trump administration<\/a> and ICE.<\/p>\n

Sarcastically, as he put his hand on his face in false shock, he said, “What will Mark Ruffalo \u2014 or however the f— he pronounces his name, Ruffalo, Buffalo \u2014 what does Mark think about politics? I don’t care… Go to Kylie Jenner and ask her what she thinks of the war so far.”<\/p>\n

However, Simmons’ comments didn’t exactly go down well with the interview’s viewers, as the star was called out for being a hypocrite on social media. On X, one person wrote, “The man who built a brand on controversy is telling everyone else to stay quiet. The irony is doing a lot of heavy lifting here..”<\/p>\n

A second person then added, “Gene Simmons says celebs should shut up about politics? Maybe he should take his own advice and shut up about everything,” while a third simply said, “Proceeds to talk politics.”<\/p>\n

“Gene Simmons telling celebrities to stay out of politics while being a celebrity who just commented on politics.
