On Tuesday night, Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo broke Kobe Bryant\u2019s longstanding NBA record as the second-highest scoring night in history.<\/p>\n
Wilt Chamberlain holds the top spot for what seems to be forever, at 100 points. For more than a decade, Bryant held the second spot with 81 points, a mark he set against the Toronto Raptors.<\/p>\n

However, against the Washington Wizards, Adebayo scored 83 points, paying homage to Wilt Chamberlain by wearing a sign displaying the number.<\/p>\n
He is now the third player to score more than 80 points in a game, joining rarified air.<\/p>\n

Adebayo reached his points total through shooting 20-for-43 from the field, 7-of-22 from 3-point land, and made 36 of his 43 free-throw attempts.<\/p>\n
\u201cLike I said, I wish I could relive it twice,\u201d Adebayo told reporters. \u201cSo this is a special moment. Wilt, me and then Kobe \u2014 which sounds crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n
After he reached the historic 83 points, the entire NBA landscape erupted in celebration of his accomplishment.<\/p>\n
